Primary Art 12:40-1:40p.m.
($250 annual fee) K-2nd graders (minimum 8) (maximum 12)
Our youngest students will explore their creative side while learning basic drawing and painting techniques with lots of “hands-on” fun. These students should be able to stay on task for the entire 1 hour session.
Secondary Art 2 1:45-2:45 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 3rd-6th graders (minimum 8) (maximum 15)
Students will get a more in-depth learning of art as they explore several different art genres. Students will explore a wide variety of art techniques and media. This class is for anyone who enjoys creating visual art.
Secondary Art 3 2:50-3:50 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 7th-12th graders (minimum 8) (maximum 15)

Concert Band 12:40-1:40p.m. NOT OFFERED THIS YEAR
($250 annual fee) 6th-12th graders (minimum 4) *Purchasing or renting an instrument will be required.
Intermediate Band is for those who have had at least one year in Beginner Band. Students must try out with Mr. McWherter to be placed in this class.
Beginner Band 1:45-2:45 p.m. NOT OFFERED THIS YEAR
($250 annual fee) 6th-12th graders (minimum 4) *Purchasing or renting an instrument will be required.
Beginning Band is for those who are in the beginning stages of learning an instrument. This will be a traditional band. Students signing up for this elective can get advice from our Band Director on what instrument is best suited for them.
Music Composition 12:40-1:40 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 6th-12th graders (minimum 4) (maximum 20)
Students will learn how to compose their own musical scores. Basic knowledge of music and how to read music is helpful (but not required) to excel in this class. Students may also enjoy collaborating on musical pieces together.
Elementary Choir 1:45-2:45 p.m.
($250 annual fee) K-5th graders (minimum 6) (maximum 15)
Elementary Choir offers an opportunity for our elementary age students to learn the basic concepts of music theory and singing techniques. They will be displaying their talents through performing the songs they have learned.
Sewing 1 & 2 2:50-3;50 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 7th-12th graders (maximum 6)
Students will need to have experience in sewing and using a sewing machine. Students will have the opportunity to make several fun small projects throughout the year. *Teacher permission is required to join this class
Quilting 12:40-1:40 & 1:45-2:45 p.m.
($250 annual fee) + $100 fee for fabric 7th-12th graders (maximum 10)
Students should know the basics of sewing including how to operate a sewing machine. Students will also work on a quilt, either as part of a group project or individually, that will be entered into the Southeast Texas State Fair. *Teacher permission is required to join this class
Junior Theater 12:40-1:40 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 3rd-6th graders (maximum 20)
Junior Theater gives young aspiring actors their first taste of performance theater. Learning theater basics and preparing performance pieces, students learn about memorizing lines, stage etiquette and positioning, while gaining confidence in presenting themselves before an audience. *Junior Theater students are required to commit to all rehearsals and performance dates when accepting a role in this class.
Theater Production 1:45-2:45 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 7th-12th graders (maximum 25)
Theater Production will let actors experience the stage with big performance. Students will need to have a lot of energy and creativity to put into this elective. There is a higher level of commitment for this elective. *Theater Production students are required to commit to all rehearsals and performance dates when accepting a role in the production.
Musical Theater 2:50-3:50 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 7th-12th graders (maximum 30)
Musical Theater will let actors with musical flair experience the stage with a performance of their own. There is a higher level of commitment for this elective. *Musical Theater students are required to commit to all rehearsals and performance dates when accepting a role in the production.
Prop & Set Design 2:50-3:50 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 7th-12th graders (maximum 8)
Students who like to work behind the scenes will have the opportunity to put their creativity to the test. Prop & Set Design students will work building the sets and props will paint and create the smaller props, scenery and back drops all for our Theater class performances. Their work will be on display for all to see as their talents are used to “set the stage” for our Junior Theater, Theater Production and Musical Theater performances.
Makeup Artistry 1:45-2:45 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 7th-12th graders (minimum 6) (maximum 10)
Makeup Artistry students will learn the basics of makeup and skin care. They will learn about different types of makeup, including day-to-day wear, specialty makeup and how to do makeup for Theater productions. These students will have the opportunity to display their talents by being the makeup artist for all CAFA Theater performances.
Video Production 12:40-1:40 / 1:45-2:45 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 7th-12th graders (maximum 6)
Students will learn the ins and outs of Video Production. They will learn how to appropriately handle and work cameras, use editing software, and produce their own videos. Students will also get to help in the video recording and producing of our many exciting CAFA productions.
Beginner Culinary Arts (Cooking) 1:45-2:45 p.m. / 2:50-3:50 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 6th-12th graders (maximum 6)
Students will learn the basics of working in the kitchen. They will learn safety and sanitary practices, how to clean up, about kitchen tools, healthy eating, cultural foods, seasonal cooking, cake and cupcake decorating and more.
Advanced Culinary Arts (Cooking) 12:40-1:40 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 6th-12th graders (maximum 6)
These students should already have the basics of cooking down and be comfortable in the kitchen. The Culinary Arts teacher will need to approve of the placements of students into this class after talking with them or observing them in the kitchen. Our Advanced Culinary Arts students will also have the opportunity to learn how to prepare and serve trays of treats as they help out at our many CAFA performances throughout the year.
Advanced Photography 12:40-1:40 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 5th-12 graders (maximum 10)
Students need a DSLR that they can bring to class. This class will cover the basics of camera operation, lenses etc, as well as aesthetic aspects such as composition, lighting and depth of field. Students will have hands-on projects as well as opportunities to photograph CAFA events. Students will be able to submit their photographs to the Yearbook team for consideration for publishing in the yearbook.
Yearbook 1:45-2:45 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 7th-12th graders (maximum 6)
Students in Yearbook class will be responsible for helping plan and complete a CAFA yearbook. They will learn how to use the website, design pages, arrange pictures and creatively add text for all of our class and event pages. Students will need access to a laptop or tablet to periodically complete assignments at home and occasionally bring to class.

Debate/Apologetics Club 12:40-1:40 p.m.

Debate Club is a place for students to explore the art of “organized arguing.” Students in Debate Club will enjoy discussing current issues and will develop a strong voice and good presentation skills in a fun and safe environment. Students will learn to create factual, logical, ethical and emotional arguments to persuade others in the class to view their “side” as correct. The ultimate purpose of the classes to train students in the fundamentals of debate and public speaking.
Middle School/High School Science Club 1:45-2:45 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 6th-12th graders (minimum 6) (maximum 15)
This year we will combine Middle School and High School into one fun Science Club. Students will get to participate in a variety of fun and interesting experiments. The instructor will tailor a curriculum that meets the needs of the students and offers a wide range of experiences.

Primary & Elementary Science Clubs are fun, hands-on classes for our curious and creative students. They will enjoy taking part in fun, and sometimes messy, science experiments. They will learn the creativity and artistry that science has to offer. These classes are divided by the above grade levels but taught at the same time.

Primary and Elementary STEAM Clubs will use Legos to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. Classes will learn to work together to problem-solve and create amazing projects, developing practical skills and appreciation for collaborations.
Elementary PE Class 1:45-2:45 p.m.

Elementary PE offers a chance for young students to be active in the afternoons. Many different forms of exercise and sports as well as some free play time will be offered throughout the year.
Middle School/High School PE Class 2:50-3:50 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 6th-12th graders (minimum 6) (maximum 15)
This year, will will combine Middle School and High School students in one class to offer a chance for students to be active in the afternoons. Our PE classes will be an alternative to Study Hall. Many different forms of exercise and sports will be offered throughout the year.
Beginner American Sign Language 12:40-1:40 p.m.

New to CAFA this year, we are offering a variety of language options. American Sign Language (ASL) is the use of hand signs to communicate with people who are hearing impaired. Students will learn the basics of ASL and enjoy communicating with one another in this unique way.
Intermediate American Sign Language 1:45-2:45 p.m.
($250 annual fee) 7th-12th graders (minimum 6) (maximum 10)
Intermediate American Sign Language (ASL) will give students with some knowledge and experience in ASL a chance to continue learning and expand their ASL vocabulary. Students should have take Beginner ASL at CAFA or have a basic knowledge of ASL>
Beginner Spanish 1 & 2 1:45-2:45 p.m. (K-5th grade) 2:50-3:50p.m. (6th-12th grade)

These beginner Spanish classes offer a chance for our students to learn the basics of the Spanish language. Learning basic words such as greetings, day-to-day objects, colors, numbers and foods, students will gain basic communication skills in Spanish. No prior knowledge of the language is required. *Some homework may be necessary for students to get the most out of this experience.
Spanish 2 12:40-1:40 p.m. (7th-12th grade)

Spanish 2 is for students who have taken Beginner Spanish at CAFA and re ready to move on to more in depth learning of the language. Students will build on their knowledge of basic words and phrases and be able to better communicate with others in Spanish. *Some homework may be necessary for students to get the most out of this experience.
Worship Leadership 101 2:50-3:50p.m. (7th-12th grade)
($250 annual fee) (minimum 6) (no maximum)
New to CAFA this year, Worship Leadership 101 will give our musically gifted students with a heart for Worship Ministry a chance to learn and develop their skills. This class will include discipleship, worship service planning, learning to work with other musicians and much more. *Teacher permission is required to join this class.
Journalism 2:50-3:50p.m. (7th-12th grade)
($250 annual fee) (minimum 6) (maximum 10)
New to CAFA this year, our Journalism class will offer students a chance to learn basic Journalism skills. They will learn to interview people and turn that information into an interesting story. They will have the opportunity to create news stories for our yearbook and for our very own CAFA Newspaper. *Some homework may be necessary for students to get the most out of this experience.
Child Care ALL three elective hours
($150 annual fee) K4-5th grade
Whether your child has a break between electives or is waiting on a sibling, you can elect to enroll them in our Child Care program. You are always welcome to pick up your student or come sit with them if you choose.
Study Hall ALL three elective hours
( No Fee) 6th-12th grade
Our older students are also supervised between their electives. They are encouraged to bring board games, cards or other group activities as cell phones and electronics are not permitted during this time.
